“Karreeb” is a dream family based business that was conceived by two passionate founders from Mysore region, – an old Indian city, rich in culture, heritage and history with a lot to offer to the world.
Karreeb was founded in London, UK in 2023 to bring this immensely rich history, culture and heritage to the people of the UK and the world. The word “Karreeb” is derived from “Karigari” which means craftsmanship and “Kareeb” which means getting closer in the native language of India.
The vision of Karreeb is to bring the highest quality unique heritage products to UK markets. The founders have years of experience with hand crafted and heritage products, being born, and lived in this heritage rich region for most of their lives. It was during this time growing up that a desire was ignited in the minds and hearts to share these unique products with the world. This desire was turned into reality and the company “Karreeb” was born.
Karreeb products are handcrafted to perfection by traditional craftsmen with talent handed down from one generation to another. Made up of wood and other materials that are grown exclusively in this region of the world. The distinctive dark, beautifully colored and grained rose wood of which these products are made is from a tree that grows nowhere else in the world. The rose wood inlay work is an art form, hand crafted with utmost precision requiring hours of intricate work to create handcrafted master pieces.
The art dates back to more than 400 years and has the geographical indication status that was awarded by “World intellectual property organization (WIPO)” in the year 2005. It’s an art dating back to the times of the Maharaja’s and the British Raj in India. Both of whom were great patrons of this astonishing work.
Karreeb intends to revive this art and bring along various heritage products to a UK market. Quality, authenticity and timeliness of delivery are of key importance.
